Thai Yoga Massage is an ancient and scared system of healing that can be traced back to ancient India and Thailand 2500 years ago. Practitioners approach each session with an open, loving heart with the intent of creating harmony and balance between the mind, body and soul.
What is Thai Yoga Massage?
Thai Yoga Massage is often described as having yoga done to you. This unique and powerful form of bodywork combines assisted yoga postures, stretching, rhythmic massage, acupressure, gentle twisting, energy work and meditation.
No prior yoga experience is required, the practitioner places the recipient in various yoga postures and stretches, while applying pressure along major muscles and energy lines using palms, elbows, knees, feet, etc.
This comprehensive full body treatment reduces muscle tension and stress, enhances flexibility, increases circulation, boosts the immune system and restores blocked energy to promote a general sense of well being and a deeper mind/body awareness.
Traditional Thai Yoga massages are typically 1.5 hours or 2 hours in length. This system treats the whole body so a long and leisurely session is ideal in achieving maximum benefits.
The massage is performed on a padded mat that rests at floor level. Both the practitioner and recipient are dressed in yoga or workout attire to allow flexibility and ease of motion. No oils or creams are used.
Do I need to be flexible to receive Thai Yoga Massage?
No prior yoga experience is needed.
Have you always been curious about yoga but were apprehensive about trying a class? Experiencing a Thai Yoga Massage is a wonderful first step that will definitelty improve your flexibility.
You will be placed into yoga postures while I apply a gentle rocking motion to ease you into the stretch. As your body relaxes, I will deepen the stretch within your own body's limitations.
